From Farm To Winery & Event Venue

ABOUT OUR PROPERTY

Here’s how the legend goes: a man flies over a farm, lands his helicopter in a back field, walks up to the house…and asks the owners if he can buy the farm. True story.

Carl Bolm knew what he wanted. He grew up in the Wright City area and had worked on a property adjacent to this farm. He loved the country way of life, and he was determined to purchase this magnificent land and various buildings. So, in 2002, Carl became the proud owner of what was once the Schreckengast Farm and is known today as Cedar Lake Cellars.

The history of the farm runs far and wide. Built in the 1930s, the working farm consisted of cows, chickens, corn, beans and hay. Today the cows have been replaced with grape vineyards that are used for the winery’s premium products.
