Open Mic Night Is A Hit!

Two bands that made the grade

Cedar Lake Cellars is quickly learning what everyone else seems to know: St. Louis has some very talented and seasoned musical artists.

We recently began hosting open mic nights for bands that have not previously played at our venue. We have already selected two of these winning bands for future bookings at our winery…and that’s so far. We would love to add even more to the mix.

Here are the top two bands to date that were selected to entertain our guests in the upcoming year:

The Edge

Meet the band:
A popular three-piece group – who have played together for more than two decades – plays a variety of classic rock and roll. Bob Totterer is featured on vocals and guitar, Glenn Vatterott plays keyboard and bass, and Don Long joins in on drums and vocal.

What did you like most about playing at Cedar Lake Cellars’ The Barrel Room?
Acoustically, it’s a comfortably live room which treats the music well, and performing musicians always appreciate those kinds of spaces. The Barrel Room just struck us as a very well-designed space that seems suited to a variety of events and entertainment. The room has a nice energy, but it also just plain feels fun.

What is your band’s favorite all-time band?
If we had to pick one, we’d probably settle on The Beatles as the one rock group we all equally enjoy.

What is your band’s super power?
We have a genuine enthusiasm for the material we do, and that shows up in our performances.

Every Little Thing

Meet the band:
The four-member group plays everything from modern rock and new country to pop and classic dance music.  The musicians, who have played together for one year, include vocalist Heather Bee, Myles Shaw on guitar, bass by Brad Craddick, and drums by Dave Burns.

What did you like most about playing at Cedar Lake Cellars’ The Barrel Room?
The beauty and sheer size of the place. Everything was very stylish, rustic, and at a grand scale. Their new stage is big and has an easy load-in area in the back with state-of-the-art speakers that fall from the ceiling. This ensures that the band doesn’t have to be very loud to fill the room.

What is your band’s favorite all-time band?
A split between Aerosmith and The Beatles. Both bands have successfully transcended genres and have magnetic stage presence. These traits are what ELT strives for every time we play.

What is your band’s super power?
We truly care for one another as a family. This positivity translates into our performances for the best experience possible.
